Resume writing
Resume templates with an accompanying webinar (online), tailored to your return to work scenario for best results. We’ll explain what to include and leave out of your resume, and why.

Preparing for job search
Before jumping into resumes we’ll make sure you know what you need to get a job in a competitive market, and learn key sales skills so you can showcase your talents. Good foundations = success!

Interview skills
Interviews can be daunting. Our role playing webinar will help you prepare, so your nerves are kept under control in a real situation. We’ll also guide you on the types of questions and how to answer.

Job ready
Cover letters, following instructions, what should you wear? We’ll cover all this and more in our comprehensive series. A wrap up session will deal with any issues arising.

Program is online
Each weekly session is delivered online via a 2.5hr webinar in school hours (break for school holidays). A private hidden Facebook group supports the participants and deals with questions between sessions as you test and implement.

Freebies
The program is fully funded by Hawkesbury City Council and the NSW Government.
Throughout the program you will receive a lot of freebies – slides from webinars and templates for your use, to aid in your job search.
Application tips
We will support and encourage each other by letting people know of great opportunities for jobs in the area and beyond.
Plenty of tips will also be shared to help you succeed in your job search.

Personal support
Each participant will get access to a short one on one session (online), plus access to optional business sessions should you wish to explore business or freelancing opportunities. A weekly Facebook Q and A Live will also support.

The above sessions were held via LiveWebinar (webinar over the internet) live at these times, and were interactive with plenty of time for questions. If you can’t make sessions, no worries, the replay is made available.
On the Fridays following these sessions we held a Live Q&A 9.30am – 10am to address any implementation questions from the prior sessions.
Who is this program for?
Due to Hawkesbury City Council funding, for the pilot you must be a Hawkesbury City Council resident. This pilot scheme is targeting women including return to work mums, those laid off due to Covid-19, and those who have lost their confidence in looking for work, or who have struggled to get into their desired career and are working in a temporary role, or are unemployed.
The program is free to you, but we do have some expectations of attendees, as this is a funded program. You will need to register for the program, provide feedback and commit to completing it (within reason). We expect you to attend the webinars or watch the replays, and do the homework between sessions. Remember all this is 100% for your benefit, so the homework you’re doing is helping get you your next role. Expect to spend six hours or more a week on the program during the 5 active weeks for best results.
As this program has finished we are collecting expressions of interest, and will look at running additional programs in the future. Please complete this form instead.

About the presenter – Jane Tweedy
Your presenter for this program is Jane Tweedy, Founder of How to Job Search. Jane loves helping people to succeed – in their terms.
Jane first completed some formal job search training at the start of her career, more for personal use. Early involvement in resumes really came as part of being a hiring team leader, and panel selector as part of the Westpac Graduate Recruitment Program.
Over the years Jane saw hundreds of resumes in her managerial roles. Rather than simply ignore as is often the practice now, Jane actually gave feedback to many of the applicants.
In 2014, Jane bid farewell to the corporate world and started her own business Jane Tweedy Consulting Services. Initially the focus was professional resume writing, cover letters and selection criteria.
Over time Jane also began working with small business owners and became an advisor to them and assisting some with their hiring, induction and performance management systems.
Jane runs two Facebook job search groups, and has split her business into the job search side, with an emphasis on training rather than doing the resume writing, and a business training and consulting business. Sales training and mindset coaching apply to both jobseekers and business owners.
Jane holds a variety of qualifications including a Cert IV Training and Assessment, and Cert IV Business and Personal Coaching.
